Melody is a native of Cherokee County and a graduate of Cherokee High School. She and her family live in the Macedonia community.
Melody began her working career as a legal secretary for the Superior Court of the Blue Ridge Judicial Circuit, working for two Superior Court judges. She continued her legal career as a secretary in the law firm of Jane Kent Plaginos in Cumming, Georgia.
After taking some time off to start a family, Melody went to work at a home health agency in Canton where she worked for twelve years, the last five years as Office Manager. In 1999, Melody went to work at Lucent Technologies, which later became Alcatel-Lucent, in Alpharetta, Georgia. During her eleven years there, she held various titles including Compliance Associate and Account Analyst. After her department was outsourced, she took some time off to spend with her family and recently decided to get back into the workforce. Looking for something closer to home and with more of a hometown feel, she found Thompson, Meier & King in June, 2014, and is back in downtown Canton where she started her working career.
In her free time, Melody enjoys spending time with her family, going to church, gardening and cooking.
